Try this yummy Watermelon cooler recipe, perfect for these hot summer days and a great treat to make with the family!
Watermelon is the perfect fruit to serve to kids and adults alike during warm weather as it contains over 90% water! This fact makes it super hydrating as well as being a packed full of Vitamins A and C and many other important nutrients and antioxidants.
I use fresh watermelon when making this summer cooler but you can also use frozen watermelon along with a handful of ice which will make a more slushy-like drink instead!
Ingredients
- 1 litre sparkling water
- 300g cubed watermelon
- juice of 2 lemons
- 2 tsp honey
- fresh mint and ice to serve
Method
Add half the ingredients except the ice and mint to the blender and blast away until smooth – approx 30 seconds
Strain through a sieve and pour over your chosen glass full of ice (I prefer to use crushed ice as it gives a crunchy slush vibe) you can add a sprig of mint for garnish if you want to be a little extra
Repeat with the remaining ingredients
Lidded mason jars are a perfect way to serve up this summer cooler and can also be used to store the juice in the fridge until ready to use ( just don’t add ice until ready to serve! )
Now all you need to do is go grab your watermelons and do your best dirty dancing impression “I carried a watermelon!”
Just a little note – use your own judgement regarding the quantities you add to your blender as I’m aware blenders do vary in size! Just try to split the ingredients evenly between the servings.
Enjoy!
